Department OverviewSecurities Lending forms part of the WSS Franchise under the Securities Lending and Execution Products Product Company banner. As Agent lender for some of the firm's major custody clients, the Product generates gross revenue in excess of $ 1 billion, with aggressive plans and a vision to grow the business by 35% i 2008 through the development of new markets, targeted sales and innovative new products. Securities Lending operations provides loan maintenance and on-loan position entitlement protection services, working across the lending product company and with external market counterparties to provide a high quality, risk adverse product offering for our clients. The Vice President of Securities Lending WHEM Ops Strategic Initiatives Project Manager will have the following responsibilities: Role Definition:WSS Securities Lending has ongoing strategic initiatives that address business, operational and technical desire to move to the business forward. Full life cycle Project Management experience with Business Requirements, GAP analysis and closure, process flow documentation, User Acceptance Testing, and Implementation experience. Job Description : Manage a team of project managers in the development and execution of project plans, testing plans, analyzing and tracking problems, and the gathering of information. Strong management skills exemplary of holding individuals accountable for results Expertise in project management discipline, techniques and Project Delivery Process Managing, organizing, and controlling activities of projects that are complex in scope. Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and interact with all levels Ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work Ability to provide Senior Management Updates, as well as necessary escalations Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong team building skills Developing project requirements, assigning priorities, establishing deadlines, and tracking problems while ensuring capacity within the operations team is properly assessed. Ensuring future state requirements are forward thinking and encompass control points Interacting closely with trading, systems support, vendors and clearing organizations to resolve problems and to implement new processes This role requires a functional understanding of the Securities Lending business and operations process. We require that the person in this role spend exploratory time training and understanding the tasks performed in the various operations units. It is critical that the person in this role understand the current strengths and limitations of all of the applications used by the operations team. Travel to New York may be neccesary.
Qualifications Experience & EducationBachelor's degree in a business / finance / accounting discipline preferred Five plus years managerial experience. Three years operations experience at a Vice President level. Finance Industry business experience. Knowledge of the custody industry and specifically securities lending Strong analytical ability Strong influencing and negotiation skills Strong presentation skills Proven in-depth PC skills. Excellent communication skills. Excellent project management and organization skills. Strong focus on Control and Risk analysis when developing and implementing new technology requirements
